Due to unseasonal drought, harvest has now finished in April which was a month earlier than average. In fact, it is the earliest harvest in 20 years.

- In general terms there has been minimal impact due to COVID-19, with wineries harvesting normally with slight disruption due to social distancing and night-time logistics due to sanitary barriers and controls.

- Drought due to a lack of winter precipitation as well as throughout the growth and maturation periods and high temperatures, have caused some dehydration and overall there are lower grape yields, although less than in Argentina where vintage has ended with a 25% lower-than-average yield.

- The growing cycle was completed early, including the sugar maturation although with a lower potential alcohol level for this year’s wines.

- The 2020 vintage has been particularly good for Cabernet Sauvignon, which should have fresh fruit and floral notes recalling violets. There is a tremendous natural balance between the alcohol and the acidity, which ensures a long life for the wines.

- Chardonnay in particular has had very low yields and this has bumped-up the price to about US$0,95 / Liter (FOB).

- Prices in general however are on the rise as there has been increased demand from North America and the United Kingdom. Generic Red is about US$0,60 and Basic Cabernet Sauvignon US$0,65 - US$0,80.

智利提早结束2020年葡萄采收季

受非季节性干旱影响，2020年的智利葡萄采收季已于4月落下帷幕。据悉，采收季较往年提前一个月结束，这也是20年来最早完成的采收季。

总体来说，新冠肺炎疫情对智利葡萄采收季的影响不大。但在防疫、抗疫的影响下，保持社交距离，夜间物流中断等管制措施仍给部分酒庄的采收工作带来了不便。

由于冬季，甚至在整个葡萄生长和成熟期的降水量不足，加上高温导致的干旱，造成一些葡萄出现脱水现象。总体而言，智利今年葡萄产量较低，但降幅不会像邻居阿根廷那样，达到25%。

因为葡萄的生长周期较往年有所缩减，糖分积累周期缩短，有可能造成今年葡萄酒酒精度较低。从葡萄品种来看，2020年份的赤霞珠表现很好。带有新鲜的果香和紫罗兰等花香。酒精含量和葡萄的酸度非常平衡，赋予葡萄酒较长的生命力。相比之下，霞多丽的产量极低，受此影响，散装酒的离岸价涨至约0.95美元/公升。

随着北美和英国对智利葡萄酒消费需求不断增加，今年智利散装葡萄酒的价格整体呈现上升趋势。普通红葡萄酒的价格约为0.60美元/公升，赤霞珠葡萄酒的价格基本为0.65-0.80美元/公升。
